From the rooms, you have a stunning panoramic view of the mountains: southwards to the distant glacial ice of the Dachstein and on the other side, a view of the mighty Traunstein and the atmospheric Traunsee and Attersee lakes.
In winter, you can start directly from the holiday home to go skiing, ski touring, snowshoe hiking (five different, partly guided snowshoe routes are offered), sledding/building snow castles, or simply go for a walk.
In summer, the wonderful mountain panorama invites you to go hiking, mountaineering, and climbing. There are recreational options for every need: relaxing on alpine meadows and in dwarf pine fields, various hiking trails (some suitable for strollers), many mountain peak experiences, tours lasting up to 10 hours, and climbing opportunities on the northeast wall of Aberfeldkogel.
Paragliders and hang gliders enjoy a take-off site in the Höllengebirge, not far from the Almhaus Dachsteinblick. The Feuerkogel is also accessible by mountain bike.
If you set off on a summit tour at sunrise, you will not only be a silent observer of the magnificent mountain flora, but you may also encounter chamois crossing your path, or even spot entire herds.
In spring, you can also observe the mating displays of proud black grouse and sometimes even the shy capercaillie.
With the cable car, you can quickly get down to the valley to swim in Traunsee and other beautiful lakes in the Salzkammergut (Langbathsee, Attersee, Mondsee, Wolfgangsee, etc.) or to go sightseeing (e.g., the imperial city of Bad Ischl).
In winter, the indoor pool in Ebensee, the ice rink in Gmunden, or the Eurotherme spa in Bad Ischl (about 20 minutes by car) offer great options.
The Almhaus Dachsteinblick is always rented out to only one group at a time. So, you will be the only guests, although staff (in a separated area) will be present at check-in, check-out, and sometimes in between. A visitor’s tax of €2 per person per day applies.
Cable Car Operation Seasons:

The huts on the Feuerkogel are accessible only by cable car!
Outside the regular cable car operating hours, the huts are only reachable on foot (more than 3-hour hike with over 1000 meters of elevation gain – not recommended in winter or with heavy luggage).
The Feuerkogel and the Almhaus are easily accessible via the A1 motorway and about 20 km of federal road. Free parking is available at the cable car valley station, the cable car ride takes about 6 minutes, and the walk to the Almhaus is about 3 minutes (luggage transport from the mountain station to the Almhaus is offered!).
